Care Workers

• Assist with patient care, including hygiene, mobility, feeding, companionship, and medical needs, following individual care plans.
• Participate in handovers, accurately documenting and communicating all relevant information.
• Report any health, safety, or wellbeing concerns promptly.
• Support daily activities, social and therapeutic programmes, and maintain a safe, respectful environment.
• Assist with cleaning, kitchen duties, and meal service when required.
• Follow all policies, procedures, infection control, and health & safety standards.
• Work collaboratively with the team and assist with ad-hoc tasks to ensure smooth operations.

Handover:

• Assist in the handover process as directed by the supervisor, ensuring that all relevant information is discussed, and procedures are followed as per the institutions’ policies and procedures. 
• Communicate all observations regarding residence, clients and day visitors to the opposite shifts. 
• Only end shift after handover is completed. 

Administration and Reporting:

• Chart and timestamp all activities as per the institutions’ policies and procedures, and ensure information is accurate and fully completed. 
• Report to the duty Sister, Nurse of Supervisor any changes or causes of concern in a residents, clients or day visitors’ condition.

Patient Care 

• Attend and complete all activities as per the care plan per resident, client, home care clients or day visitor and chart any activity accordingly, activities include but are not limited to personal hygiene, incontinence, dressing, mobility, feeding, companionship, personal care, medical needs, transfers, toileting, and nappy/clothing changes
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for all residents, clients and day visitors in terms of care plan and their personal diagnosis. 

Company Policies and Procedures: 

• Ensure adherence to all institution’s policies and procedures. 
• Maintain awareness, understanding and adherence to the institutions’ rules, policies and procedures. 
• Treat all residents, clients and day visitors with respect and dignity. 
• Contribute to creating a therapeutic and relaxing environment. 

Infection Control: 

• Comply with all the institution’s policies and procedures regarding infection control.
• Maintain good personal hygiene, including ensuring that your hair, nails and uniform is clean and presentable. 

Health and Safety: 

• Comply with company health and safety standards in terms of activities of work. 
• Be aware of duty of care and measures to protect vulnerable residents, clients and day visitors. 
• Report any health and safety contraventions to the Duty Sister, Nurse or Supervisor. 

Activities and Exercise: 

• Assist with activities for residents, clients and day visitors as per the activity programme. 
• Stay involved with the resident, client or day visitor while overseeing them. 
• Ensure all residents, clients and day visitors attend social OT activities. 

General Cleaning, as and when required:

• Perform daily tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, emptying waste bins, washing basins, and disinfecting toilets and passageways, as and when required. 

Kitchen Support, as and when required: 

• Wash dishes and utensils.
• Clean kitchen surfaces, floors, and appliances.
• Assist with food preparation, such as peeling, chopping, or portioning ingredients.
• Ensure the kitchen is stocked with essential items and notify staff of shortages, as and when required.
• Help serve meals to students and staff, as and when required. 

Collaboration and Assistance:

• Promote positive behaviour by modelling and reinforcing appropriate conduct.
• Assist management with tasks as needed. 
• Step in to assist with tasks in the absence of staff members. 
• Perform administrative tasks, as and when required.
• Be available to assist with unexpected tasks or projects that contribute to the smooth operation of the school, as requested by management.

Other Duties as Assigned: 

• You are expected to perform additional tasks as requested by the school leadership to meet the evolving needs of the school and its learners.
